Workshop on Remote Sensing Measurements for Renewable Energy

There is need for real-time measurement data for data assimilation in weath.er forecast models at different time horizons, for validating forecasts and post processing and determination of uncertainty of model outputs for grid integration.
The Workshop has the purpose of recognize and outline the current state and future perspectives of the remote sensing measurement techniques functional for Renewable Energy development and management. Pros and cons of different techniques used nowadays will be discussed.
Abstracts are invited but not restricted to the following topics:
- Measurements (ground based and satellite remote sensing systems): Wind lidar, sodar, aerosol lidar including ceilometers, satellite, radiometer, sky imager, dial systems for humidity, total integrated column water vapor, radiation.
- Database and datamining
- Use of measurements in modeling of power production
- Data assimilation
- Spatial and temporal upscaling and downscaling
- Practical applications and case studies
Abstract of max one page are invited. The workshop will have oral presentations and posters. Abstract should be submitted to email@example.com. The deadline for submission is March 15th 2012. Extended abstracts delivered during the workshop, will be published on the Action’s website.
